I'll start by stating the obvious: inspiration and design is all around us... Good, no arguments there. *whew* Ok. Now that's out of the way, let's dig a little deeper. Sitting where you are right now, whether it be at your home office, work office, or in a traffic jam reading this off your iPhone, look up. What do you see? I can guarantee that within your view, you're going to find several circular shaped objects. They're everywhere. The circle is an amazing design aspect. It can suggest infinity, protection, well-rounded/completeness or even movement. Therefore, with so much versatility, it is used in everything from traffic signals/signs, to company logos (check out the Target logo), to just about any round fruit or veggie, or even the earth.
As I was sitting here, contemplating what to write, and noticing all my circles, I thought I'd share a few that I have around the house, just so you can get the gist of what I'm talking about:
